Workmanship Guarantee
If a defect arises from our workmanship within a reasonable period after completion, we return and fix it at no charge to you. We do not argue about whether a problem is ours - if we did the work and it has failed, we take responsibility.
Honest Inspection
We inspect before we quote. We tell you what we find - including if the problem is simpler or cheaper than you expected. We do not inflate the scope of work to increase the invoice.
Written Quote Before Work Starts
No work begins without a written quote you have accepted. The price on the quote is the price on the invoice, unless you request additional scope changes during the project.
Named Materials
Our quotes name the materials we will use. We do not substitute inferior products without your knowledge. If a specific product is unavailable, we discuss the alternative with you before proceeding.
Clean Site
We leave the site clean at the end of every working day and completely clean on completion. All waste material and packaging is removed by us.
Guarantee Conditions
- •The guarantee applies to work performed by Nexus General DIY. It does not extend to pre-existing conditions that were present before our work began and that were disclosed in our inspection.
- •The guarantee period varies by trade and scope. Structural repairs, waterproofing and roofing work carry longer guarantee periods than decorative finishes.
- •The guarantee is void if the completed work is subsequently modified, damaged or subjected to conditions beyond normal use without our involvement.
- •Customer-supplied materials that are found to be defective are not covered under our workmanship guarantee - only the work itself.
Guarantee Questions
How do I claim on the workmanship guarantee?
Call or WhatsApp us on 083 861 6718. Describe the problem and we will arrange a return visit to assess it. We do not require written submissions for warranty claims.
What is the guarantee period for roofing work?
Our roof repair and waterproofing work is guaranteed for two years against workmanship defects. Full re-roofing carries a five-year workmanship guarantee.
Is there a guarantee on painting work?
Interior painting is guaranteed for one year. Exterior painting, where surface preparation was completed by us, is guaranteed for two years. Peeling caused by moisture in the wall that was not present or disclosed at the time of painting is not covered.
Do product manufacturers provide their own warranties?
Yes. Many materials we use carry manufacturer warranties - Plascon paint, geyser tanks, gate motor units and similar. We retain purchase documentation and can assist you with a manufacturer warranty claim if required.
