The quality of any repair or installation is only as good as the materials used. We name the brands and products we use in our quotes - you always know what you are getting before we start.
One of the easiest ways for a contractor to lower their quote price is to substitute cheaper, unknown-brand materials for the ones specified. We do not do this. If a material shown below is unavailable or if we need to use an alternative, we tell you before proceeding. This page documents the brands and systems we typically specify across our trades.
Roofing
We source roofing tiles, IBR/Chromadek sheeting and roofing accessories from established South African manufacturers with consistent quality standards.
Coverland
Concrete roof tiles
One of South Africa's largest tile manufacturers. We use Coverland tiles for tile-to-tile matching and full re-roofing projects.
Amberstone
Concrete and clay roofing tiles
Quality concrete and clay tiles for residential roofing. Wide profile range makes matching existing roofs straightforward.
Kliplok / Chromadek steel sheeting
Metal roofing
Pre-painted galvanised Chromadek sheeting for IBR and Kliplok applications. Specified for commercial and low-pitch residential re-roofing.
Waterproofing
Our waterproofing system is only as good as the materials used. We specify membranes and coatings from manufacturers with documented performance data.
Chryso
Bituminous primers, admixtures
We use Chryso bituminous primer as the base layer before torch-on membrane application on all flat roofs.
Sika
SikaFlex sealants, Sika renovation products
Sika SikaFlex polyurethane sealants for expansion joints, window and door perimeters and wet-area applications.
Lanko / Chryso construction chemicals
Salt-retardant plasters, screed compounds
Salt-retardant renovation plasters specified for rising damp repairs to prevent efflorescence bleed-through.
Paint
We use quality South African paint systems - the primer matters as much as the topcoat. We do not substitute materials without disclosing it.
Plascon
Exterior and interior acrylic systems
We use Plascon VIP exterior acrylic as our primary exterior wall topcoat for its UV resistance in Bloemfontein's climate. Alcoshield sealer for new plaster.
Dulux
