Terms of Service

Last reviewed: August 2026

1. Quotations

All quotations are provided in writing. A quotation is valid for 30 days from the date of issue unless otherwise stated. Acceptance of a quotation constitutes agreement to the scope of work, materials and terms described in that document.

Quotations are based on information available at the time of inspection. If hidden defects or additional work requirements are discovered during the course of the job, we will inform you immediately and provide a written variation before proceeding with any work outside the original scope.

2. Materials

Materials specified in the quotation will be used unless you are informed of a substitution before the work proceeds. We do not substitute materials of inferior quality without your knowledge.

3. Payment

Payment terms are stated on each quotation and invoice. For residential work, payment is generally due on completion. For larger projects, a deposit and progress payment arrangement will be set out in the quotation.

Overdue accounts may be subject to interest at the prescribed rate under the National Credit Act. We reserve the right to suspend ongoing maintenance work on accounts that remain unpaid beyond agreed terms.

4. Access and site conditions

The customer is responsible for providing reasonable access to the work area at the agreed time. If access cannot be provided and a site visit cannot proceed, a re-mobilisation charge may apply for the return visit.

We require that the work area is safe and free from hazards not related to the repair being performed. We reserve the right to halt work and leave the site if safety conditions are unacceptable.

5. Workmanship guarantee

Our workmanship guarantee terms are set out on our Guarantees page. The guarantee applies to work performed by Nexus General DIY and does not extend to pre-existing defects, customer-supplied materials or subsequent modifications made by third parties.

6. Liability

Our liability for any claim arising from work performed is limited to the value of the work in question. We carry public liability insurance. We are not liable for consequential losses, including business interruption or loss of income, arising from delays or defects in work performed.

7. Disputes

If you are not satisfied with any aspect of our work, contact us directly in the first instance. We take complaints seriously and will arrange a site visit to assess the concern. If a dispute cannot be resolved directly, it may be referred to an agreed independent arbitrator in Bloemfontein. These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.

8. Website use

The information on this website is provided in good faith for general guidance. It does not constitute professional advice for your specific situation. Always arrange a proper inspection before proceeding with any significant property repair or renovation.
